Starting from the Adamello Ski territory,
go towards the Passo Aprica and Valtellina. The first part
is quite lovely even though the road is quite narrow and busy. Be
especially careful right after winter because there still might
be dirt and small pebbles on the road. Once you reach Valtellina,
the road becomes a bit boring all the way to Colico due to
the amount of traffic that you will encounter. Near Colico, follow
the directions to “Colico-Belleno-Lungolago”,
which will enable you to ride as you admire the beautiful scenery
all the way from Como Lake to Lecco. Be careful when entering
the first tunnel since it is very dark, humid and there is a
hairpin bend to the left. A stop in Varenna is recommended
before continuing onwards along the lakeside. In order to visit
the lakeside in Lecco, which is full of bars that allow you
to sit outdoors to enjoy the magnificent view, take the “Lecco-Bellaggio”
road. Leaving Lecco behind you, get back onto the road and go in
the direction towards Bergamo, unfortunately the first part
is a bit boring. You will then reach Pontida and after a
few kilometers, turn left going towards Val Brembana. Once you reach
the town of Zogno, continue “Oltre il Colle”
(Over the Hill). The road up is truly amazing. Once you have reached
the top of the hill, go down all the way to Ponte Nossa.
The road surface is not one of the best, especially after a long
winter. From here go to Clusone and then towards Passo
Presolana. You can choose to take a detour to Passo Vivione,
therefore arriving in Valle Camonica from Forno Allione
or by taking the road to Dezzo (as indicated in this itinerary)
and then onto Borno, Breno and Alta Valle Camonica.
The road is narrow and bumpy in the first part that takes you to
Dezzo.
